Northlake TK-8 Parent/Visitor Information

At Northlake TK-8, we deeply appreciate the contributions of our parent volunteers, and we do our best to provide ample opportunities for parents to get involved. However, we also have guidelines in place to prioritize student safety, development, and a healthy school environment.

  • Single Point of Entry Campus: A Single Point of Entry school campus is a security measure in which all students and visitors enter the campus through one designated entrance. This practice is part of a broader approach to campus safety and emergency preparedness.

  • All-Day Volunteering: While we encourage parents to volunteer, we limit the hours of parent participation in the classroom to ensure that students have time to build independence and interact with their peers. Volunteers are welcome for certain scheduled activities and events, but we balance that with the need for a focused learning environment.

  • Interactions with Students: We understand that you want to engage with the students, but we ask that parents not form personal friendships with the children in the classroom setting. This policy helps maintain appropriate boundaries between students and adults and supports a professional, safe environment for all.

  • Lunch with Students: For similar safety reasons, lunchtime is generally reserved for students. This allows them to socialize with their classmates and develop independence.

  • School Events & Rallies: While we understand it can feel disappointing not to be invited to every event, certain school rallies are designed specifically for the students as part of their school experience. There are plenty of other family-friendly events where we look forward to welcoming parents, and we will keep you informed of those opportunities.

Our aim is to ensure a safe, inclusive, and enriching environment for all students, and we truly appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to these policies.

Thank you again for your ongoing support, and we look forward to continuing to work together to provide the best experience for your child at Northlake TK-8.

Regards,
